DONATE to the Cedar Street Family Fund!
The North Camden neighborhood experienced a tragedy on December 20th, 2018, when a fire on the 900 block of Cedar Street damaged five homes, leaving several people injured and displacing residents. News coverage of the fire can be found here.
At the request and encouragement of Mayor Francisco “Frank” Moran, Camden Lutheran Housing, Inc. (CLHI) has established the Cedar Street Family Fund at the South Jersey Federal Credit Union to gather monetary donations to help ease each family’s burdens. This account is unaffiliated with the City of Camden and is managed by CLHI for the benefit of the affected families. Thank you to Mayor Francisco “Frank” Moran for helping us best serve these North Camden families.
100% of all donations received through the Cedar Street Family Fund will be divided equally among the families affected by the fires, for them to use for their self-identified needs to ease hardships during this very difficult time. CLHI will keep 0% of the money. Please note that, although we will track the amount of money provided to the families each week, we will NOT ask the families to provide receipts or reports about how they spend their portion of the money. We believe it is each family’s right to decide what their family needs, and to ask for justification of their expenses seems inappropriate. CLHI will track and assess funds weekly and distribute checks shortly thereafter.
