CLHI North Camden is happy to welcome our newest hire, Marcus Biddle, to the role of Project Manager. Through his work, Marcus will increase CLHI’s capacity to implement the community needs outlined in the North Camden Neighborhood Plan. He will assist with grant writing and oversight of programs like Decorative Board Up, Change the Message, and the new North Camden Home Repair Program.
Marcus has an impressive background and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the CLHI team. In his own words:
“Camden Lutheran Housing, Inc. is a staple in North Camden, with many individuals – both volunteer and employed staff – that have lived in the community for years, whom I admire. I was an intern with CLHI’s Decorative Board-Up team with Jessica and Chris in the summer of 2017. During that time, I was also employed through Catholic Charities, Diocese of Camden’s veteran services program, working with at risk and homeless veterans to achieve individual, housing sustainability. After leaving in 2019, I worked with Veterans Multi-Service Center in Philadelphia as a Data Performance Specialist, where I assisted with the quality assurance of our rapid rehousing and prevention grant. I received my bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from Rutgers University – Camden in 2015, where I developed an interest in community development and journalism. Throughout the years, while I’ve been interested in many facets of community mobilizing, my process of listening has been more important. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to join CLHI, not just as a programmatic organizer, but to be amongst fellow team members that share the same passions!”
